Do I need the internet to use 2ndSIM?
Yes, you do. Mobile data or Wi-Fi is needed for calls, SMS, and to validate user details.
Can I make calls without internet access?
No. Calls require the internet for validation, verification, and connection. All calls and messages received are utilising an internet connection.
Can I receive calls with 2ndSIM?
Yes, as long as you are connected to the internet. 2ndSIM voicemail is available when you are offline, meaning you won’t ever miss an important message.
I cannot receive calls or messages
Please make sure to enable notifications on all of your devices:
For iOS: go to Settings > 2ndSIM > Notifications > click - Allow
For Android: go to Settings > Notifications > 2ndSIM > toggle - On
How much does it cost?
The app is 100% free. Calls and messages to non 2ndSIM users might incur a fee. Please check these rates more specifically in the app.
Are there connection fees?
There are no connection fees whatsoever. Calls are charged per 60 seconds.
How secure is my communication?
100%, secure calls between 2ndSIM users are fully encrypted. Choose 2ndSIM for secure calls and safe messages, ensuring privacy at all times without compromise.
How can I call for free?
Simply invite your friends to 2ndSIM to exchange free calls/messages. Once they join 2ndSIM, you will get a notification, and they’ll display as "free" in your contact list. It’s as simple as that!
Which devices can I use?
All Android (4.0+) and iOS (8+) devices can support the 2ndSIM application.
Can I use 2ndSIM on my iPad?
Yes, certainly. iPads can also use 2ndSIM to make/receive calls as well as to send private messages and use SMS.
Why does 2ndSIM require my mobile phone number?
To verify and validate your account with an activation code. 2ndSIM users can make calls to each other 100% free, no matter where you are in the world; with 2ndSIM, you can always stay connected.

Why do I need to turn on notifications?
Notifications deliver your calls and messages. Turn them on for proper functionality and to ensure you don’t miss a message. We will only notify you when someone is trying to contact you.
Will 2ndSIM replace my SIM card?
No, 2ndSIM uses your mobile number for validation, but it is not a replacement for your SIM card.
How can I enable notifications?
For iOS: go to Settings > 2ndSIM > Notifications > select - Allow
For Android: go to Settings > Sound & Notifications > 2ndSIM > select - On
Should I use Wi-Fi or mobile data?
Wi-Fi is preferred, but mobile data also works fine too. Check with your network provider for specific data charges.
Can I use 2ndSIM when roaming abroad?
Yes, but it’s best to use Wi-Fi to avoid any unwanted charges.
What do I need to use 2ndSIM?
Either an Android or an iOS device with full internet access.

I have already created a 2ndSIM account. Why do I need to validate it again?
Validation may be required after an app is reinstalled, a device is switched, or due to software updates.
Where can I view my 2ndSIM account?

Where can I get a new 2ndSIM password if I have forgotten it?
Create your new password at link. Just make sure you have your number to hand for a verification message.
Account Deletion
You can request account deletion via the app or by emailing us at [email protected]. Account deletion may take up to 30 days.
How do I make a call with 2ndSIM?
Firstly, open the app and select your desired contact or you can dial a specific number if it isn’t saved yet.
Do I have my own number?
Yes, you can set up multiple numbers for different uses (business calls, client meetings, online dating, etc.).
I cannot make a call
Please ensure you're connected to the internet as well as being connected to other 2ndSIM users for free calls. If you are trying to make a call to a non 2ndSIM user please check you have enough credit loaded.
I cannot receive a call
Ensure contacts call your correct 2ndSIM number(s). You can share your number via the application, and invite friends from there too.
The person I’m calling cannot hear me
Enable access to your microphone for 2ndSIM; under your device’s settings.
Can you explain the different call types?
- Free Calls: Between 2ndSIM users, via the internet.
- Wi-Fi/Data Calls:Via internet to the phone network.
- Local Access: Uses local GSM minutes in your home country.
- Callback:2ndSIM calls you back and connects the call.
Can I call emergency numbers?
No, calling emergency numbers is not permitted from this service currently.
Can I call non-geographic numbers?
Premium numbers are blocked for security, but some non-geographic numbers are allowed. Please contact us for more information.
Can I use 2ndSIM instead of my SIM card?
No, it’s an (OTT), an over-the-top service that requires a mobile provider’s number for validation and verification.
How do I make an international call?
Dial simply with an international prefix (e.g., +44 for the UK, +34 for SPAIN, +1 for the US)
I cannot send messages.
Ensure you have full internet connectivity, are connected to your free contacts, and/or have credit.
Who can I message for free?
You can easily message any other 2ndSIM users for free.
What types of messages can I send for free?
You can send a variety of text and photo messages to other 2ndSIM users in seconds.
Why should I send an SMS from 2ndSIM?
SMS via 2ndSIM is cheaper, especially internationally. Having access to this service is especially handy when abroad, or when contacting friends/ family/ associates overseas.
How much does it cost to send an SMS?
To send an SMS to any phone costs 3.9p/5c.This is much cheaper than other providers, and you can avoid paying hefty international fees.

I was charged extra by Apple for an iTunes payment

What payment options are there?
